Gynecologists’ Views on CBD Oil for PMS

29th Sep 2019 CBD-Oil-for-PMS

Cannabidiol (CBD) products have become extremely common in the modern world. Most people Order Online products such as CBD beauty products, CBD infused water, gums, and beverages. If you are yet to embrace these products, you must be missing a great deal.

But do not get it wrong, CBD products will not make you high. They don’t contain the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compound that affects the state of the mind, as seen in the case with recreational marijuana.

CBD Oil Treats Several Ailments

CBD products are gaining popularity as remedies for various illnesses such as insomnia, anxiety, and epilepsy among others. These conditions have proved to respond positively to CBD products. The government has acknowledged the usefulness of CBD products.

In 2018, the 2018 Farm Bill was passed to allow growing of hemp which is a plant rich in CBD oil but contains only little traces of THC. Hemp is now being used instead of cannabis which is illegal in most states.

Can CBD Oil Help Women?

If CBD oil can treat many illnesses, can it be useful in women, particularly in the management of PMS and mastalgia? Can it be used to manage period pain and breast tenderness or used as a lubricant during sex?

Unfortunately, the answer is still unclear. Gynecologists have pointed out that there is little research, especially on clinical research, to conclude whether these products are beneficial in women’s health or not.

Although there are several products used for PMS such as good patch, bath soak to reduce menstrual pain, and foria vaginal suppositories meant for period pain, gynecologists argue that there no evidence to show that these products are effective without possible effects.

They urge users to be cautious since there is no research to show their activities. They recommend their use only in addition to the regular pain medications. Nevertheless, studies have shown that both CBD and THC taken in low doses can reduce pain. However, there is still no clear data to support this assumption.

Be Wary of Products with THC

CBD products should not contain THC contaminants. THC is the addictive element in marijuana and could lead to the same effects if a woman takes CBD with high levels of THC. A user can also experience withdrawal effects once they stop using the product. Doctors recommend the use of CBD oil products derived from hemp plant instead of cannabis sativa as hemp contains little THC.

The Future Looks Bright

Although most doctors don’t recommend the use of CBD products, the future looks promising. All we need is more studies to back up the claims and identify potential risks. If the products are truly medicinal and have no side effects, they can be produced, and the doctors will be prescribing them to treat various women’s problems, including PMS.

CBD products have become a common product in the modern world. Some women have used them to treat several conditions; however, gynecologists are yet to embrace the products.

Can You Take CBD If You’re Trying to Get Pregnant?

25th Sep 2019 CBD-If-You-e-Trying-to-Get-Pregnant

The controversial cbd for sale has made a rage through the internet due to its alleged capacity to heal diseases and improve medical conditions. Though, this oil extracted from the cannabis still isn’t recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). This product is still banned in certain countries in Asia and Europe.

The CBD oil is mostly used to heal heart-related conditions and it is also deemed to help decrease palpitations and to lower a person’s blood pressure. Current news regarding CBD oil is that it has also been associated with its allegedly ‘healing properties’ for persons with infertility problems.

Boosting Fertility

Infertility has long been a problem in the medical field even with the advancement of medical technologies and development of supplements and injectables. The issue on CBD oil has again raged through the internet for the past few weeks. It is because of the testimonies regarding its ability to heal infertilities and increase fertility levels for both men and women.

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, it is not good to intake marijuana compound if you’re expecting to have a baby. There’s this psychoactive compound that may lessen the baby’s grasp and it may also cause fetus deformity and abnormalities. For adult males, marijuana intake can lessen their sperm count for about 28%.

For medical purposes, since this is not recognized by medical experts yet, it is best to try boosting fertility the natural way. You may consult your doctor about this and he can give you prescriptions that will be safe for you and your future baby. You also need to improve your lifestyle if you’re expecting to conceive. Bad habits and having vices are proven to be the leading cause of infertility and reproductive system diseases.

Safety Attributes

CBD isn’t proven to be safe nor harmful yet—and with that status, it is not advisable to consume it without the doctor’s advice.

Before trying out CBD, it is best to check with your doctor first. You may have allergens on some chemicals infused in this product and it may just give you diseases instead of improving your fertility. Though the CBD oil isn’t recognized yet for its healing properties, its negative effects are not proven as well.

Will it Help?

Just because people on the internet claim that their infertility was ‘healed’ by the CBD, it can’t mean the same thing for everyone. It may not have a side effect for them but it is not totally safe for others. Each person’s system has its own capacities and weaknesses. Some people are immune to certain chemicals and some are vulnerable.

If you’re trying to get pregnant, it’s best to consult your Ob-gyne first before taking any action. Reckless decisions may lead to unwanted results that may worsen the situation. There’s no harm in trying, but for situations where your health is at risk, it’s better to be sure and rely on expert advice.

Abuse Happening Later in Life

02th Sep 2019 Abuse-Happening

A lot of people lived their younger years to have a meaningful and rewarding life later on with the help of these anti aging tips. However, many of them happen to experience abuses in their later life. Such abuse could come in the form of being financially, physically, sexually, and emotionally abused.

Often, such instances of abuse happen in the victim’s own home. The abusers tend to be relatives, family members, and even non-related caregivers.

Sadly, it always happens. Approximately 4 million of the American elderly population experience abuses in their later life. This is critical and is in no way tolerable.

Types of Elder Abuse

Elders to tend to get emotionally abused when they are being embarrassed and humiliated, most especially by their family members. Their access in almost everything is being controlled, they have their properties destroyed, and they are sometimes even socially restricted.

To avoid being emotionally disregarded and abused, one anti-aging tip is that you need to talk less. According to Cosmos 2016, middle-aged women tend to get more respect from a stranger if they talk less and stand proud. This is based on a social experiment made to address social issues on middle-aged women.

Another troubling abuse the elder population tend to suffer is physical abuse. They are prone to physical assault since they becomer weaker through time. Their bones get frail and they start to cease doing things for themselves.

Therefore, in order to avoid or limit the amount of physical abuse they receive, the elderly should keep themselves strong by engaging in a natural diet and regular exercise. This is more effective when applied as a lifestyle. Showing people how strong and active you still are may save yourself from physical abuse.

There are certain reports of sexual abuse on the elderly housed in caregiving homes. This is alarming and one that really needs a solution. If you happen to meet an elderly who has experienced such and has vent out his/her feelings and problems to you, don’t hesitate to take action. The police hotlines are always open and can be relied on to take such cases.

Since the elderly tend to have weaker minds and their memory tends to get a bit rusty, they are prone to financial abuses. Some are getting restricted on their use of money, some don’t get their hard-earned money, and some has been disregarded by their family right after retirement. As sad as it may seem, these really happen.

What Can Be Done

If ever you are in a situation to help, don’t hesitate to do so. Also, you may visit elderly homes and give them support. You can always be of help.

As for yourself, take good care not only of yourself but also of your reputation. People don’t actually stay the same through time. Even your close family members can turn their backs on you once you’ve become weaker and older.

That said, it’s best to invest in yourself and your health, and be a good colleague and a kind family member.

Urine Test During Menstrual Period

10th Aug 2019 Urine-Test

Urine tests are not usually taken during menstruation except in serious cases where the symptoms suggesting a problem with the urinary tract is severe. If you’re one who needs to get a urine test but is currently on menstruation, below are more info on Quick fix you need to know so that you become aware before the test begins:

Why Are Urine Tests Important?

Urine tests or urinalysis are part of regular general physical assessment tests. It is done when there is a need for a general fitness assessment or for symptoms examination.

In some cases, it is performed before beginning the treatment for kidney diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, and liver diseases. Urine tests can detect urinary tract infection, kidney and bladder infections, and ureter abnormalities as well.

What Is Tested in Urine

Standard urine tests include information on: Color, Odor, Clarity, Specific gravity, pH, Protein, Glucose, Nitrates, Leukocyte esterase and Ketones. It has a microscopic analysis which may show: red or white blood cells, casts, crystals, bacteria, yeasts, parasites and squamous cells. Urine tests can be used to detect certain drugs and are the cheapest way to detect drug abuse.

If you’re having your menstrual period at the time of the test or you expect to have it soon or if you’ve eaten beets, rhubarb, or blackberries shortly before the test you must inform your doctor, if the doctor is not informed, it may be incorrectly interpreted that you have an abnormal result known as a “false positive” and that there is an injury to your bladder or kidney because your urine will be reddish.

Usually, when the urine test is needed only for a regular physical examination, your doctor will recommend waiting until after the menstruation has ended to perform the test. But if you’re experiencing serious symptoms discussed above, your doctor may perform the test as a matter of urgency.

How to Pass a Urine Test During Menstruation?

You could always use your actual urine by putting a tampon in your vagina, cleaning the surrounding areas, and covering the vagina with a cloth, then trying to urinate carefully into the container. This is not guaranteed to not compromise your test results though.

The easiest method used to pass a urine test while menstruating is by exchanging your urine sample with another who is not menstruating. This is not always feasible, and sometimes, it goes very wrong as your doctor may order more tests on you based on someone else’s urine sample.

A safe option guaranteed to pass the test is synthetic urine. Synthetic urine is a combination that looks very real and reacts just like real urine after it has been well mixed with water and set to room temperature. A well-reviewed synthetic urine product may last for up to 2 years in storage if it is not mixed with water (wait until you are ready to use it to mix it), protected from sunlight, and kept at room temperature.

Synthetic urine is very easily prepared. When it is time to sneak it in, it is best to hide it somewhere that is not easily visible and attached to your body preferably – a belt or a tape may be a good option for you.

Urine tests are important diagnostic tests that say a lot about how your body is functioning; therefore, it is recommended that the parameters of the test be followed to give your doctor an accurate result.

Cannabis for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Does It Work?

20th July 2019 Cannabis-for-Polycystic

Cannabidiol contains anxiolytic that is a non-psychoactive property. This chemical has been proven to treat anxiety, pain, PMS, and sleeping issues. You can check here for more that it is now suspected to have a potential benefit to PCOS patients, especially on their sleeping quality and mental relaxation.

PCOS – Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome is an abnormal hormonal condition of a woman in which the body produces an unusually high level of male hormones. This will result in excessive dandruff, weight gain, severe acne, hirsutism, and male-pattern baldness. Missed periods, abnormal heavy flow, multiple cysts, pelvic pain, and thickening of the uterus are the other internal symptoms.

PCOS greatly affects the female’s fertility. Since menstruation only occurs occasionally rather than regularly, it reduces the chance of pregnancy. The ovaries will excrete excessive fluids that hinder the ovaries to release normal eggs. In addition, PCOS prevents the body to have a normal regulation of hormones affecting other body parts that require hormonal enzymes.

Treatment Using CBD

PCOS causes sporadic discomfort to the patient, thus experiencing pain in some parts of the body. A treatment that has been discovered recently using cannabidiol (CBD) extracted from cannabis seeds revealed to ease the pain caused by PCOS. CBD has a non-psychoactive chemical that reduces the symptoms of PCOS, however, in consideration to the potency and dosage of the said chemical.

Dosage is an important factor in the treatment since the chemical taken has a great effect on the body. Only the specialist can handle the dosage concentration as it is highly dependent on the patient taking the medicine. For normal people, 25 milligrams of CBD is enough. However, for those who have stronger symptoms, they will need to take a higher dosage which will be prepared by the respected personnel.

Benefits of Using CBD in Treating PCOS

Hollinrake conducted a study in 2005 that reveals that women with PCOS tend to develop stress and depression. CBD can contain these symptoms by releasing the calming chemicals inside the body that soothes the patients from the pain. This can also improve their instability and prevent any disturbing symptoms, thus giving the patients more quality sleep that enhances mental health.

It also reduces the abnormalities on the hormones. The CBD restores the balance inside the body. It decreases menstrual irregularities, thus increasing the chance of giving birth, reverting insulin flow inside the body to normal, and getting rid of other symptoms caused by PCOS. It also has direct control of the aggregation of fats which can result in weight loss, which is a risk factor in developing PCOS.

CBD is now offered in different forms: oil, paste, tablets, vapes, etc. The most preferred option is in the form of CBD oil and paste, but this up to the preference of the patient.

However, despite using CBD in health treatments, it can still be considered as a harmful drug, so it is advisable to seek medical attention from a specialist. Consultation is also important, as the doctor can give the best advice on how to use CBD in treating PCOS.

Why Pregnant Women Should Avoid Drinking Coffee

07th May 2019 Pregnant-WomenShould-Avoid-Drinking-Coffee

When a woman gets pregnant, there would be a lot of do’s and don’ts she must follow in order to ensure the well-being of her baby. Some restrictions can be based on culture, religion or science.

Although these restrictions might not be the best for you, it is better to consult your doctor on what you can and can’t do in order to make sure that you can still enjoy some activities or foods while you are pregnant.

One of the things that you’re definitely not allowed is the intake of coffee during pregnancy. This is based on numerous studies conducted in order to see the effects of coffee on a developing baby.

Prescribed Consumption of Caffeine

Although the topic on how many milligrams of coffee a woman should take during pregnancy is still being debated heavily, and there are conflicting conclusions drawn from various studies, the most prescribed and deemed safe amount to be consumed is 200 mg per day or one 12-ounce cup of coffee. It's best to wash it down with water from the kitchen faucet

How Coffee Affects the Baby

Since babies, whether they are newly born or still in the womb, have no ability to metabolize or detoxify the caffeine that gets absorbed by their bodies, they are not yet fully capable of handling the caffeine that is stored in their bloodstream compared to their mothers.

When caffeine gets absorbed by your baby, it can affect his heart development, making the tissues that separate the heart’s chambers thinner. As a result, it will reduce the function of the heart over the whole lifespan of the child.

Studies also point out that ingesting coffee during pregnancy can also cause an increase in heart rate in babies since a baby’s underdeveloped liver can’t filter the caffeine out of his body compared to adults’. Miscarriages and low birth weight can also be among the many effects of drinking coffee while pregnant. This can also include cooking too.

Drinking coffee during pregnancy can also cause you dehydration since it is considered a diuretic and can cause you to frequently visit your bathroom from time to time. Absorbing iron from the food that you consume can also be lesser due to the caffeine that your coffee contains.

Also, since there are no definite conclusions drawn yet from various studies that are being currently conducted, it is better to be safe than risk the life of the child that you are carrying in your womb. The health of your baby during the 9-month period and after birth is more important than temporarily fulfilling a craving.

If consuming coffee is unavoidable, it’d be better if the intake is lessened gradually, since a sudden withdrawal could cause headaches and migraines. A little dose could be enough to reduce headaches. A little tip to also consider is to slowly take in your beverage to prevent the sudden and addictive jolt that caffeine does in your bloodstream whenever you down a whole cup in one go.

Still, it would be best for both you and your baby to avoid drinking coffee during pregnancy.

Is CBD Oil Safe for Breastfeeding Moms?

15th April 2019 CBD-Oil-Safe-for-Breastfeeding-Mom

In recent years, more and more countries have started to consider the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes. Major brands like green the vote ok believe that the marijuana plant offers a wide range of medical benefits that will revolutionize modern-day medicine.

Medical researches have discovered that the marijuana plant or also known as “cannabis sativa” contains an estimated 480 compounds, and more or less 80 of these compounds are classified as “cannabinoids.”

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the most popular marijuana compounds which, unlike the other compounds such as Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), is non-psychoactive and non-intoxicating. By extracting the CBD from the marijuana plant, the resulting product is the CBD oil.

What is CBD Oil and its Benefits?

CDB oil is the oil extracted from the cannabis plant. It has been widely acclaimed to offer excellent health benefits such as:

  • Relieve chronic pain
  • Reduce depression and anxiety
  • Reduce symptoms relating to cancer
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Improve heart-related conditions

With its growing popularity in the medical world, questions are now raised on whether the CBD oil is safe for breastfeeding moms. Is CBD oil really safe to be used by breastfeeding moms? Do the doctors recommend it?

Should a Breastfeeding Mother Consider Using CBD Oil?

Expert opinions are divided as to the whether the CBD oil is really safe and effective to be used by breastfeeding moms.

To those who believe that CBD oil is worth considering, these are their claims:

  • Postpartum Depression (PPD) is a serious mental condition most new moms experience after birth. It is triggered by hormonal and physical changes that a woman undergoes during and after pregnancy. And so, it is believed that CBD oil is effective in reducing postpartum depression.
  • When a breastfeeding mom is suffering from postpartum depression, she will surely be struggling in breastfeeding her child. It could result in harming both herself and her baby. That’s why, it’s been suggested that moms should take CBD oil for it is effective in treating insomnia, severe mood swings, depression, and anxiety – all symptoms of a postpartum disorder.

As much as many believed in the great health benefits that CBD oil gives to breastfeeding moms, there are still those who are critical of its possible risks. Here are some of their concerns:

  • Although CBD oil helps breastfeeding moms battle against PPD, there is insufficient medical research on the particular effects of CBD oil to infants and to the other bodily functions of the mother.
  • Many believed that it can still be potentially risky to breastfeeding moms given the fact that it is extracted from a cannabis plant which can still possibly make anyone “high”.

Although there is still no thorough and conclusive study on the health benefits of CBD oil, it is essential to note that it’s way better than opioids that are highly addictive. And so, with enough research on CBD oil, its safe therapeutic uses will surely be discovered and proven.

What Happens If You Take Illegal Drugs During Pregnancy?

21th March 2019 illegal-drugs-during-pregnancy

Whenever a woman is pregnant, there are things that needed to be monitored so as not to harm the health of the mother and that of the baby. You can check this article too but using illegal drugs while on the period of pregnancy is actually not safe.

There is an existing study that shows that using illegal drugs on the period of pregnancy can eventually lead to low birth weight, placental abruption, miscarriage, premature labour and even both maternal and fetal death.

The succeeding information will help you know about specific drugs and their effects on the expecting mother and the unborn child:

Effects to a pregnant woman’s body: When cocaine is consumed, it crosses the placenta until it enters the circulation of the fetus. It is actually harmful because the elimination of the drug takes much time for the fetus than for an adult. This would mean that the drug will have to stay longer in the body of the fetus than in the body of the pregnant woman.

Effects to the baby: As per the Organization of Teratology Information Services (OTIS), if the cocaine was consumed in the early months of pregnancy, it may increase the risk of having a miscarriage. If it was consumed on the later stage, it can cause placental abruption which will eventually lead to preterm birth, fetal death and severe bleeding.

Effects to a pregnant woman’s body: Both these drugs are considered hallucinogens. This means that they can make the users behave violently. If a pregnant woman takes the drug, it may hurt the baby once she inflicts damage to her own body.

Effects to the baby: The use of PCP will result in poor muscle control, withdrawal syndrome, low birth weight and even brain damage if the mother uses it frequently. LSD, on the other hand, will lead to birth defects if it is used on the same frequency as PCD.

Effects to a pregnant woman’s body: Like Cocaine, if Marijuana is consumed, it will immediately cross the placenta towards the fetus. Like cigarette smoke, marijuana has toxins that keep the baby from getting enough supply of oxygen that he or she needs in order to grow properly.

Effects to the baby: Existing studies about the use of marijuana by a pregnant woman is still inconclusive because most women are also using alcohol and tobacco. Nevertheless. smoking marijuana increases both the levels of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide present in the blood, thus reducing the supply of oxygen towards the baby. Also, like any other drugs, smoking marijuana during pregnancy will increase the chances of low birth weights, delay of the baby’s development, miscarriage, premature births, and behavioral and learning problems once the child grows up.

How Can You Get Help with This Matter?

If you are using drugs while you are still not aware that you are pregnant, then you can get help through various treatment programs, counselling and support groups. Don’t hesitate to ask for help once you realize that you have a problem relating to this matter. You can only be assured about your safety through passing drug tests. After all, it's not only about your health since it may also cause severe problems to your child.

Clothing Guide for a Comfortable Menstrual Period

16th Dec 2018 Clothing Guide for a Comfortable Menstrual Period

According to a New York Times article, it is tough being a woman because of the dangers and challenges they face all their lives. One of these challenges is having to undergo monthly menstruation. Dressing on a period is one of women's dilemmas as they don't want to commit a mistake by putting on something that will sacrifice fashion. When it is that time of the month, it is a must to choose outfits that offer comfortability without neglecting your fashion sense. Below is a clothing guide for a comfy, relaxing menstrual period.

Hoodies or Sweatshirts

There are bad days, but there are SUPER bad days. With menstrual cramps and hormonal things going on that is making your day miserable, it’s never a bad idea to wear custom hoodies. If you don’t want to move, just want to stay home and sip a hot cup of tea while watching a fine movie on Netflix, a hoodie or a sweatshirt has your comfort totally in mind. Hoodies are available around the corner, but if you want to add your personal taste, you can decide to wear custom hoodies instead.

Being anxious on your period is normal, but don’t let it rule your day. Avoid wearing white and light colored pants as it is obvious if blood seeps through your pants. Opt for darker jeans, so if a mishap happens, stains won't be that noticeable. Also, stay away from very tight jeans that is difficult to put on and off.

Long Shirts

If light-colored jeans are really your thing, you can opt to wear long shirts that wrap your crotch. This will allow you to hide stains whenever you get one. In addition, long or oversized shirts are comfortable to wear, so you won't feel irritated during the day.

Leggings have been part of women's wardrobe. You absolutely need a pair of leggings, most especially a black legging, during your period for they are versatile and cozy. Also, you won't find it tricky to pair with other pieces of clothing. A professional-looking blouse and shirt are easier to pair with leggings. In addition, if wearing a skirt is a must for you, you can opt to wear leggings underneath your skirt. You can still wear something fashionable even during that time of the month.

T-Shirt Dress

A loose hanging dress will give you the comfort you deserve. It is never a bad idea to wear a dress on your period especially if your timetable requires you to attend formal, professional events. Compared to other types of dress, a t-shirt dress is not tightening and still looks pleasant. During cold days, you can wear it over tights or put in a cardigan for added comfort and style.

These clothing ideas are here to save your day so that you won’t split your closet open. But don’t forget that being confident in what you wear will make you feel comfortable. Always remember that whenever it is that time of the month, do not let the excruciating pain let your poise down.

Benefits of Taking Probiotics

21st Sep 2018 Probiotics Source: Gasett

What does a probiotic do for you? Probiotics are live microorganisms that can be consumed through fermented foods or supplements. In addition, they are often called "good" or "helpful" bacteria because they maintain a healthy gut. You can get probiotics from food supplements and some foods like yogurt. Studies have shown that the balance or unevenness of microorganisms in your digestive system is related to overall health. Probiotics encourage a healthy equilibrium of gut microorganisms and have been connected to a lot of benefits to the body.

Balance the Good Bacteria

Taking probiotics can help your digestive system balance. When you take antibiotics, probiotics will restore the good bacteria that you lose in your body.  When taken in adequate quantity, these live microorganisms can help repair gut health.

Prevents and Treats Diarrhea

One of the best probiotic therapeutic benefits is the treatment of diarrhea. A microorganism such as a lactobacillus has been proven over the years to cure diarrhea in children and adults. Since diarrhea is sometimes a side effect of taking antibiotics, then some people would suffer from it. Recent studies show that probiotics may prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD) via restoration of the gut microflora. Also, probiotics can also help treat diarrhea that is not related to antibiotic use.

Aids in Weight Loss

Probiotics can help break down fiber that the body cannot absorb turning it into a beneficial fatty acid. Certain studies show that normal-weight people have different stomach bacteria than overweight or obese human beings. Therefore, probiotics probably play an important part in weight regulation. The other way that probiotics can aid weight loss is by preventing the intake of dietary fat in the intestines. Excreting the fat into the body wastes rather than storing it in the body is a good way to lose weight.

Boosts your Immune System

A study conducted in 2011 shows that probiotics may limit epithelial damage induced by enteroinvasive pathogens, and promote restoration. In addition, some probiotics have been shown to help with the creation of antibodies. There are also studies that mention probiotics decreases the possibility of respiratory diseases. Probiotics such as Lactobacillus Crispatus can also lessen the risk of urinary tract infections (UTI) most especially in women.

Decreases the Risk of  Skin Allergies

Though more research is needed, there are certain cases that link probiotics to reduced severity of eczema. One research shows that infants fed with probiotic-supplemented milk have improved their eczema condition than those who did not. Also, a study conducted shows that women who took probiotics during their pregnancy have a lower risk of having children with skin allergies and eczema. Therefore, these live microorganisms may lessen inflammatory diseases.

The benefits of taking probiotics vary from one person to one another. Thus, this is one reason why you should include probiotic supplements and foods in your diet. Many studies show that probiotics may balance the good bacteria, prevent and treat diarrhea, help in losing weight, enhance your immunity, and reduce skin allergies. You may contact your doctor to learn more about probiotics.

CBD: Is It Safe to Use During Pregnancy

15th Nov 2018 CBD: Is It Safe to Use During Pregnancy

The legalization of medical Marijuana has resulted in the growing demand of the medicinal herbs to many places. This is not because people want to get addicted but because Cannabis has health benefits to the person using it. Other places are also legalizing it for recreational purposes.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the many natural substances that can be found in Cannabis plants. It was discovered in 1940 and was initially believed not to have medical benefits. Unlike other substances, CBD is not psychoactive and does not affect a person’s brain and nervous system. This makes CBD a good option for treating sickness without the side effects of Marijuana or other Cannabis-related products.

Today, CBD health products such as CBD oil are getting popular in the health and wellness industry. A recent study suggested that it can help in chronic and nerve pain and can even alleviate inflammation. It was also discovered that CBD oil has shown to be a good alternative in treating anxiety and depression.

Is It Safe to Use During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy can be a difficult time for the mother as it is usually accompanied by sickness and unpleasant symptoms. Nausea, chronic pain, and migraines usually occur during this time. Some mothers also suffer anxiety and depression during and after giving birth. However, taking medicines to help them is not a viable option as it might have adverse effects to both the mother and the child.

This is where CBD comes in. CBD was shown in clinical studies to be useful in managing common conditions that a person suffers during pregnancy. It has been tested to be effective in treating anxiety, nausea, and vomiting among others. A couple of studies also suggested that it can help women with contractions. With its non-psychoactive traits, CBD can be a good option in providing relief to all pregnant women.

The viable option of consuming CBD during pregnancy is in the form of oil. Whether it’s a capsule, tinctures, or lotion, these are the best ways of using the product. Today, there are many legal products that are available online and in stores.

CBD’s FDA Status

The only hindrance to these is the current status of CBD products to the health industry. It is still classified as Schedule 1 which means that it is not regulated and FDA-approved. Despite the number of clinical benefits with CBD, the lack of government regulation is preventing healthcare professionals in recommending CBD during pregnancy.

The lack of FDA approval will also mean less clinical trials for all CBD products. This will play a big factor with regard to the use of CBD to pregnant women. CBD may not have the effects on pregnancy, but it is still recommended to consult health professionals before using the drug.

CBD products can be of great help to people who need medications including pregnant women. However, the usage of these products has been limited because of its current status in the health industry. Therefore, it is up to the individual to decide and take the risk in using CBD.
